Gateway Greening, a St. Louis organization that promotes urban gardening and helps residents and schools establish community gardens, provided a farm-to-table brunch on October 29 to mark the closing of its City Garden.

The Franciscan Sisters of Mary, who support Gateway Greening’s programs, were represented at the brunch by Srs. Jeanne Derer, Vicki Ewers, Irma Kennebeck, Marge O’Gorman, Mary Jo Schieber, and Sandy Schwartz.

The City Garden is losing its site to road construction, and Gateway Greening is actively seeking a new site for the garden among vacant properties in the city.
