Farewell to Mother Concordia Hall

Farewell to Mother Concordia Hall

Does the sight of Mother Concordia Hall bring a rush of wonderful memories for you? Come and say good-bye to this stately building on the northeast corner of SSM St. Mary’s Health Center!

Mother Concordia Hall, which was originally St. Mary’s School of Nursing and student residence, then Saint Louis University School of Nursing, holds a fond place in the hearts of countless people who lived and studied and worked in those halls. During its long history the building served many functions, including operating as St. Mary’s School of Practical Nursing and providing housing for dietetic interns and graduate nursing students. Through the years it offered office space for the hospital and living quarters for sisters.

The elegant building, which has stood on the northeast edge of the SSM St. Mary’s Health Center campus since 1929, is slated to be razed in spring 2010.

If you were one of the students—or others—who roamed those halls and would like to reminisce and share those warm memories and abiding friendships once more, please join us in a commemoration of this beautiful structure!
