Say Yes to Life

February 12, 2010

e. e. cummings captures the heart of Easter in his poem that begins “i thank You God for most this amazing day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything which is natural which is infinite which is yes”

Some days we feel that rush of excitement. We can wholeheartedly say “Yes!” to life.

Other days life seems flat. Some days we may just want to pull the covers back over our heads.

Open your heart to God’s surprises in your path. The birds are singing—listen to their charm. Notice the rainbow of tulips in your neighbor’s yard or the sweet scent of lilacs. Say yes even to the difficult things that make you a gentler person.

As we move through Lent to Easter, listen for God’s whisper in your heart.
