Let us pursue peace at whatever cost!

In this new year of 2007, let's continue to proclaim with our lives the same message proclaimed at Jesus' birth, "Peace on Earth and Good Will Towards All." Knowing the violent conditions in much of our world, this may seem to be an imposible task and impossible it will remain unless we begin to work towards this in our own lives.
We have experienced times when it's difficult to show compassion or kindness to those who have hurt us or those with whom it's difficult to interact. Yet, this is how peace begins - with one person totally committed to being a gentle presence with good intentions toward all.
As Franciscans, inspired by St. Francis of Assisi and led by the gospel of Jesus, we pray for the courage and the grace to pursue peace at whatever cost and we invite you to join us in this pursuit.
