Make a peace connection
How often do we feel helpless when we consider the injustices of our world? We're not likely to be in a situation to make a direct impact on the issue. The fact that this act, which may be in our community or a world away, gets our attention and touches our heart does call us to some act. We may want to share this concern with an appropriate group or refer the injustices to a group committed to action on behalf of the injured individual(s).
Following in the example of St. Francis as a relational person, we may want to join with trusted others in a "peace connection." This can be done in a small group in a circle, where participants place one hand, palm up and one palm down. Each person's left and right palms rest just above or below another's palm so that a warm energy is felt. In silence or out loud, individuals think of places or persons where they want to send energy for peace. Their intention is that the energy generated in the circle be sent to that place or persons. Taking moments during our day to do this would connect us in peaceful harmony and give us an action, where we might feel quite helpless to act.
Why not give the "peace connection" a try?
