60 Day Reprieve for Cathy Henderson by Gale Thackrey Justice Ministry Coordinator

On April 2nd, Judge Wisser sent this e-mail to Ms Henderson's Attorneys:

Dear Counsel: I have reread the motions and memos submitted to the court. I seriously considered both parties positions over the weekend. I decided, although not convinced of the legal correctness of the defendant's position; it is in the interest of justice and the criminal justice system of this state, that the execution date of April 18th be reset for June 13th, 2007. This should permit the defense adequate time to perfect any subsequent writ.

Therefore I will instruct my clerk to recall the current death warrant and to issue a new one with the June 13th date.

Sincerely, Jon Wisser Judge Presiding

During the next 60 days, Cathy Henderson's attorneys will employ experts to construct biomechanical evidence to prove the baby Brandon's death was accidental. Please continue to correspond with Cathy and keep her in prayer during these next few months.

Should this evidence fail to overturn the death penalty, Cathy will be executed on Wednesday, June 13th. A vigil will be held at St. Mary of the Angels Convent on the evening of June 13th so we may be 'presence' for Cathy.
